Whimsical thoughts There are always more whimsical thoughts to paint. And that is key: what do thoughts look like? What forms do they take? How do they express themselves in line, and colour, and paint? Now here’s a thought: I ambushed myself in a shower of stars and found I was the enemy. Here are some Second Thoughts, untitled and undated! Along with thoughts come dreams and nightmares and a Mingy Mangy Monster may sometimes appear when Reason Dreams. Such thoughts can tie our minds into knots. What an Amazing Maze we get ourselves into when we ask ourselves such questions! And such amazing mazes can produce nightmares. Here’s a Double-headed nightmare floating like a kite in the sky above my bed! What is it about midnight? Sometimes, it rushes upon us like an express train; other times Midnight comes in on the wings of candlelight and song! Whatever! The work of painting must, like the show, go on and on and on.
