Miscellaneous Themes The first painting in this final series is called Two hearts joined by what strange strings of love? The hearts take on the form of kites as they soar in unison: hence heart and kite strings! When hearts walk out, the rain bursts into flowers and each droplet sings. Here again, the blending of word and paint creates a new sequence. And a happy one, I hope, as Snail wears his autumn suit of leaves to talk to a butterfly. And for those of us who have read Arthur Lovejoy, here is The Great Chain of Being Something Different. So, if truth is beauty and beauty is truth, how do we account for this painting entitled Truth walks a long straight line in the optical illusion of an ideal debate?
